Bike LOVE.

I come across at least one bike a day that I say, "I NEED!" But this one is absolutely AMAZING. I love the leather, the handlebars, the stitching, the cages, and last but not least the FLASK. This bike is by Ateliers d'Embellie check it out more on their website.

Oh deer!

I've been coming across a lot of deer things lately... perhaps because I miss my dear (Kevin). It started with this unbelievable bike with antler handlebars by Jenny Nordberg. Enjoy all the other unique antler things. Also, Audrey Hepburn had a pet deer... pretty cute.

Tis the season of.... MENTAL BREAKDOWNS.

My college experience is coming to an end and all the anxiety is turning me into a crazy lady. I guess it does not help that my dog that I've had since I was 10 was put down, I'm sick, and next week I have a thousand things due (including a semester long project I decided to start 2 days ago). So of all the things I learned in college the most profound at this point is that I am a procrastinator to the tee, I need the pressure for motivation. Last night I had a nightmare that I was back in high school and was so pissed I had classes on Friday. I was also pissed to see a lot of people that suck, ha. The best part of the dream was that I couldn't seem to pass any of my classes. I'll be analyzing this one all day in my head and repeating the saying below over and over again for the next 10.

Kids!

I am so jealous of kids these days! Awesome clothes, furniture, modern playhouses, and bad ass tricycles!

Spring!

I'm in Missouri this week and it is good to get away from all the browns of the desert somewhere with so much color! I love spring and all the flowers! I'm thinking about making a vase insert on wooden bike baskets! A few inspirations... Vertical gardens by Flora Grubb, hanging vase by Monkey's Always Look, and lastely flower in the bullhorns of my bike last year!

Quick bike things...

Above is probably my favorite bike I have ever seen. This is a Pierce Arrow Chainless bicycle from 1910. I love the fork, handlebars, and the simplicity of the bike with no chain.

I'm super busy with school so just a few random things I've come across that are interesting....

San Francisco might put a stop to Critical Mass!

Interesting idea, freeway for bikes.
Hopefully it would be done in an environmentally friendly way and would cut back.

Interesting Initiatives for Better Cities

Gabe Klein is the transportation chief in Washington, D.C. and has had a background in bicycles as well as car sharing. He has established the first bike-sharing network in the United States and has put started to incorporate electric hybrid buses into the city. Check out more in the video below…

Boston was voted not only the worst city for biking in the United States but also in the world. I am excited to hear that Nicole Freedman is trying to change this so that more people can safely enjoy such a beautiful city by bike. Check out the article and interviews with Nicole Freedman here.

With passenger vehicles being one of the major sources of greenhouse gases in the United States, California passed senate bill 375. This makes it mandatory for urban planners to follow certain criteria to help slow and eventually stop sprawl. More states should follow. Link below with information and a video.
